Welcome to Pitcha!

You'd like to know more? Here's some of the finer details...

Pitcha is a community designed to service both photographers and those people looking to access and ultimately purchase quality photography at reasonable prices. Below are answers to some frequently asked questions.

Q: Why isn't the website live yet?
A: We are currently finalising the back-end functionality and will be live very soon. In the interim, we are looking to invite great photographers to submit their photos for sale on the launch date.

Q: What is the pricing structure and commission split?
A:

Commission is split 50/50, meaning for every $1 photo you sell, you will retain $0.50 (better than any other stock photography website around). Images on the Pitcha network will be provided by both amateur and professional photographers; we aim to offer customers great photos at reasonable prices.

Pitcha will initially offer individual photographs in several sizes, with prices to match:

$1 - Small (low-res, suitable for web)
$3 - Medium (medium-res)
$5 - Large (high-res, suitable for small print)
$10 - XLarge (high-res suitable for full A4 page print)
$20+ - XXLarge (super high-res, suitable for poster print)

Keep in mind that how much money you make is dependant on how many photos you make available, and what size you make these available in. Check out the following table for an earnings estimate:

Photo Resolution Total Sales Per Day Your Income/Day Your Income/Month
(based on a 30 day month)

$1 - Small 100 $50 $1500
$3 - Medium 100 $150 $4500
$5 - Large 100 $250 $7500
$10 - XLarge 100 $500 $15,000
$20+ - XXLarge 100 $1000 $30,000

Not so bad after all, is it? Remember - this is all based on volume. You are likely to sell many, many more photos at a cheaper price than you are expensive ones.

Q: Can I expect any royalties for the usage of my photos?
A: All photos will be sold royalty-free. Pitcha is keeping the process as simple as possible for both seller and buyer. Stage 2 will see the introduction of a rights-managed option, which will be available to those photographers who are interested.

Q: Do I need a model release for my photos?
A: If the images that you are submitting have an identifiable human face, then you will need a model release. Forms will be supplied for this.

Q: I have another question. Is there someone I can ask?
A: Sure, simply email your question to info@pitcha.com.
